  • Host address: Connect to the container address. The container address is located in the Stackable control panel as shown below.

Introduction:

Stackable containers are accessable via a Secure Shell Interface,  SSH, for command-line access to the site(s) hosted in a stackable container.  The login username and password is selected when a Stackable account is first created. The host address to connect to is listed in the Stackable control panel as the Hostname or Address (shown below)

The Stackable Username can be found by clicking the ACCOUNT link at the top of the screen.

Connecting via Windows

PuTTY is the leading SSH client for windows, and is availible for free download

This is PuTTY's start-up screen. Insert the container address into the Host Name field.

The first time a connection is made to a server the server's key fingerprint is displayed for security purposes. Select Yes.

Connecting via Mac/Linux

An SSH connection to a Stackable container can be made from a Macintosh or Linux platform though use of the built-in terminal program.

On Mac OSX, the Terminal program is found under Applications > Utilities.

The command to SSH to a stackable container from either Mac OSX or Linux platforms is:
ssh user@container.ip.add.ress
(e.g. demo@199.104.120.219)
