FileZilla is a free file-transfer program available for Windows, OS X and Linux. Instructions on downloading and installing FileZilla on your workstation can be found in the FileZilla documentation. This article will show how to connect to a stackable container and upload content to a site

Connecting to a Container with FileZilla

  • Launch the FileZilla program.
  • Open the Site Manager by going to File->Site Manager
  • Provide the hostname of the container which hosts your site, found in the Stackable Control Panel. This hostname should be your container named prefxied with c-. (For example, c-mystackable01....)

  • Username and Password fields should be set to your Stackable Username/Password
  • Click Connect

Once connected, you'll be presented with two hierarchies of folders. On the left is your local filesystem on your workstation and on the right is the remote filesystem of your Stackable container.

Transferring Files

To transfer files to your Stackable container, navigate to the folder containing the files to upload on the left panel, and to the site's document root you wish to upload them to on the right panel. Then simply drag the files from the left to the right. To select multiple files for transfer, hold down the shift key while clicking sequentially on multiple files or directories before dragging.
